hums of hmms: as we wait for waves is a love letter to ocean beach, san francisco. it holds personal writings, photos, and drawings made in the last 3 years from the wanderings of the ocean that held me so. the zine is semi-interactive, including 2 postcards and a space for reflection.

the series, 'as we wait for waves,' births out of this space of liminality in which we are waiting. it isn’t the kind that is impatient or in a hurry to be in the waves per say, but it’s instead natural distraction embodying patience. 'as we wait for waves' comes from the countless board sitting, hands swaying in the water, bodies moving as we all sit in our own wavering thoughts.
